O'Donnell must vacate Gorse Hill by noon today

Solicitor Brian O'Donnell has until noon today to leave his former home at Gorse Hill in South Dublin.

Solicitor Brian O’Donnell and his wife Mary Patricia are expected to leave the Gorse Hill mansion in South Dublin ahead of the legal deadline at midday.

The O’Donnells, who owe the Bank of Ireland over €70 million, were yesterday refused leave by the Supreme Court to appeal a trespass order.

Brian O’Donnell is understood to be planning to complain about the bank’s conduct at its AGM in Dublin later today.

It is now almost two months since Brian O’Donnell and his wife Mary Patricia returned from their home in England to occupy Gorse Hill.

Since then, the Bank of Ireland secured a High Court trespass order against the O’Donnells, which was upheld in the Court of Appeal, with the family told they must leave by noon today.

That deadline now looms large after the Supreme Court rejected an application to have another appeal heard, on the grounds that it wasn’t a matter of public importance or in the interest of justice.

Brian O’Donnell is said to be disappointed, and wants to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

He is due to leave Gorse Hill well ahead of the deadline, and it is understood he plans to complain about the bank’s conduct at its AGM later this morning.
