Tánaiste insists no decision has been made on Aer Lingus sale
The Tánaiste has rejected speculation that the Government has decided to turn down IAG’s offer for Aer Lingus.
It’s after Bloomberg reported that the coalition was preparing to reject the prospective bid for its 25% stake in the airline.
International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) chief executive, Willie Walsh, will today meet civil servants evaluating the bid - and will come before the Oireachtas Transport Committee tomorrow.
Tánaiste Joan Burton said the Government is still giving the offer careful consideration.
“The cabinet has been briefed, there are advisors advising the Minister and the Government, but there has been no decision”
