Two arrested following Rathmines robbery

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested two men following an attempted robbery at a shop in Rathmines yesterday evening.

Two masked men, armed with a screwdriver, entered the shop on Lower Rathmines Road at around twenty past six and demanded staff hand over cash.

A struggle took place and the two men fled the scene empty handed.

In a follow up search at a house on Grove Park two men in their thirties were detained.

They're being questioned at Rathmines Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
