RNLI in Dublin's Howth rescues 11 people in 24 hours
The volunteer crew with Dublin's Howth RNLI were kept busy this weekend as they responded to three callouts in 24 hours.
The first callout came yesterday to a 22ft motorboat which had broken down south east of Lambay Island with two adults and two children on board.
The second callout was received last night to a report of a capsized motorboat in Dublin Bay with six people in the water.
The third callout for the lifeboat crew was received this morning and was to a lone yachtsman who had left Holyhead on a 25ft wooden boat.
All 11 people were brought to safety.
"I think with the weather we've been having there seems to be a lot more people being active o the water, so on the weekend it does get busy," Joss Walsh from the RNLI in Howth said.
"But this is why we're here, this is what the RNLI does … make sure that lives are saved at sea."
