Man slashed across the face in Dublin assault

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating a serious assault of a man in the city overnight.

It happened in Kearn's Place in Kilmainham at about 2am this morning.

It is understood the victim, a man in his 30s, was slashed across the face.

He is being treated at St James's Hospital, where his injuries are said to be "superficial".
