Water restrictions to continue in Dublin
Dublin City Council has said that night-time water restrictions will continue tonight and possibly until the weekend.
Dublin City Engineer Michael Philips said the council regrets the inconvenience caused, but water levels have not reached the height needed to go back to normal service.
"Nobody wants to be putting restrictions in place," Mr Philips said.
"But if we don't impose these restrictions at the times that we are doing it, they will be shut down maybe for much longer periods a day in the future."
The council has said that reductions in pressure and/or loss of supply will affect the entire city from 9pm tonight to between 7am and 9am tomorrow morning.
Treated water storage is currently at an "unsustainably low level" as a result of production problems at one of the city's water treatment plants.
Storage levels of treated drinking water are below a normal operational level, while water demand is currently running higher than average due to the cold weather which has caused an increase in leakage.
The council has asked people to report any location where they see water rising or running.

Meanwhile the Restaurants Association of Ireland is calling on the council to stop the nightly disruption to the water supply, saying it has caused businesses to lose around a €250,000.
Chief Executive of the Restaurants Association, Adrian Cummins, says around 250 restaurants are struggling because of the ongoing disruption.
Mr Cummons said they should get some kind of compensation.
