Man shot dead near children's playground
A man in his 30's has been shot dead close to a children's playground in Dublin.
The shooting happened outside an apartment complex in Clongriffin on the North side of the capital shortly after 1pm this afternoon.
A number of shots were fired during the incident and the scene of the shooting has been sealed off.
The body of the victim of what appears to be the capital's latest gangland killing remains at the scene of this afternoon's gun attack.
The man, who is understood to be known to Gardaí, was shot on the road outside an apartment complex on Marrsfield Avenue.
The State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy has conducted a preliminary post mortem examination on the body, while the Garda Crime Scene Investigation Unit is carrying out forensic tests.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and asking anyone that was in the area to contact them.
