Jury convicts man of murder in Dublin pub
A 29-year-old man has been convicted of the murder of John Carroll who was shot dead in Grumpy Jack's Pub in The Coombe in Dublin, two years ago.
Peter Kenny of McCarthy's Terrace in Rialto was one of four men on trial for the killing on February 18, 2009.
The verdict came after nine hours of jury deliberations.
The jury could not agree on a verdict for Christopher Zambra of Galtymore Road, Drimnagh who was alleged to be the brains behind the shooting and it has acquitted Bernard Hempenstall of Park Terrace, The Coombe who was in the pub on the night of the killing.
A fourth accused was acquitted mid-trial by direction of the judge.
In a victim impact statement John Carroll's three children said they hope the bad men that killed their father "go to hell".
