Gardaí continue to question nine in organised crime operation

Nine men remain in garda custody this morning as part of an investigation into the activities of an organised crime gang in Galway.

More than 20 business premises and houses were raided across the city and county yesterday, as part of Operation Foolscap.

Officers seized four vehicles, mobile phones, computers and documentation during the early morning raids and today they will begin to examine these.

Gardaí had apparently been watching this gang closely for eight months.
