Search continues for missing man at Westmeath's Lough Ennell

Gardaí are continuing to carry out searches in the vicinity of Lough Ennell, Co Westmeath for a man in his 20s who has been reported missing.

The operation, which began on Sunday, is being coordinated by local gardaí and the Garda Water Unit, with assistance from local sub aqua teams, the Civil Defence and the Garda Dog Unit.

In the course of the searches to date, a 17-foot fishing boat belonging to the missing man was discovered abandoned on an island in Lough Ennell.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity between 12.30am and 6pm on Saturday, September 19, who may have observed a man in a fishing boat, to make contact with them.
