Football icon Thierry Henry lists cool New York penthouse for $25m

Former Arsenal and Barcelona forward purchased Soho apartment for $14.85m in 2010 and renovated the home with his partner, Andrea Rajacic

HE was one of the game’s deadliest strikers, patenting a trademark finish en route to a record-breaking career with France and many of the world’s great clubs, including Arsenal and Barcelona.

50 next year, Thierry Henry has accumulated considerable wealth since his 2014 retirement, retaining a razor sharp eye in a business suit just as he did in football boots.

The latest exhibit? A Manhattan, New York penthouse he purchased for around $15m with his partner Andrea Rajacic in 2010 is now on the market for a cool $25m, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Henry bought the penthouse and the unit below it for $14.85 and combined the lower block with the penthouse, making the expanded property roughly 6,000 square feet. The home has roughly 3,400 square feet of outdoor space, including the private rooftop.

The kitchen opens to a roughly 980-square-foot terrace.

On their private rooftop, they added a pergola, a barbecue area and an outdoor eating and lounging area. They renovated the home several times, most recently this year, the Journal reported.

In the summer of 2010, Henry and Ms Rajacic spent a full day house-hunting in Manhattan ahead of Henry’s move from Barcelona to the New York Red Bulls.

“We saw some beautiful places,” reports Rajacic. But the couple, then living in Spain, didn’t fall in love with any of them until their real-estate agent proposed they look at one more place: a penthouse in Soho with rooftop views of the Brooklyn and Williamsburg bridges.

“I remember walking around the apartment, and Thierry discreetly pulled me to the side, and he was like, ‘Andrea, close your mouth, they don’t need to know how much we both like it,’” said Rajacic.

“That’s true,” Henry smiled.

They loved the New York home so much they decided to keep it and visit as often as they could. But as the years went by, the visits became less and less. “No matter where we were coming back from, that was always where I was really dying to return to,” Rajacic said.

That emotional attachment is why the couple pulled the home off the market after listing it for $26.75 million in early 2025. They now feel ready to part with it. “We were and still are in love with the place,” said Henry. “It was very difficult to leave New York.” 

The penthouse sits on a cobblestone street well-known in the Soho community, according to listing agent Joshua Judge of Sotheby’s International Realty. The street has been home to celebrities including Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz, he said.

In August, a penthouse on the same street sold for $28.25 million, according to Judge. The home-sale record in Soho is $50 million, which was set in 2023, he said.
