A man charged with the manslaughter of teenager Toyosi Shittabey in West Dublin last Friday night has been granted bail.

Paul Barry (aged 38), from Pearse Street appeared in court this morning along with his younger brother Michael Barry (aged 23), from Pigeon House Road, Ringsend, who is charged with possession of a hockey stick.

Paul Barry was remanded in custody for two weeks with consent to bail by Judge William Earley.

Two Independent sureties of €30,000 are part of his bail conditions. He has also to sign on daily at Pearse Street Garda Station, surrender his passport, stay out of the Dublin 15 area and have no contact with any witnesses in the case.

The court heard his brother Michael Barry may be in a position to meet his bail conditions today.

Toyosi Shittabey's father Bolanle was in court this morning along with friends of the teenager who was fatally stabbed on Good Friday at Mount Eustace Crescent in Tyrrelstown.
