Flooding disrupts bus services in Cork
Due to flooding in Cork, a number of services are currently being diverted, Bus Éireann said this afternoon.
The below services are those affected, according to a statement from the company:
226 Cork Airport- Cork service rerouted via Link Road due to flooding at Kinsale Rd;
214 Patrick St-CUH Flooding at Sarsfield Road curtailed to Elmvale;
219 Mahon-Bishopstown - Flooding at Sarsfield Road rerouted via Clashduv.
Meanwhile a warning has been issued over the 237 Cork-Goleen route due to a major flooding alert for 2pm at Skibbereen. Services may have to rerouted, Bus Éireann said.
The company also said that the 222 Cork-Fountainstown service is still not servicing Crosshaven / Fountainstown due to a fallen tree.
In the east, 111 Dublin – Granard will operate to and from Castlepollard for the remainder of the day; this is due to bad road conditions between Castlepollard and Granard.
The 163 Drogheda-Donore cancelled due to ice on roads.
Subject to road and weather conditions, the vast majority of services around the country are currently operating with some delays.
"Bus Éireann will continue to monitor this situation closely and we would advise customers to contact their local travel office for information on individual services or visit www.buseireann.ie," the statement said.
