Thomas Cook bosses to meet union representatives

Thomas Cook bosses are due to meet unions representing the company's Dublin workers today to discuss the redundancy package being offered to the employees.

The travel firm closed its two Dublin offices ahead of schedule last Friday, prompting a sit-in protest by staff members at the Grafton Street outlet.

Twenty-eight of them were arrested yesterday morning when gardaí forced their way into the premises to enforce a High Court ruling ordering the workers to leave the building.

All later walked free after purging their contempt and agreeing to adhere to the court order.

Today’s talks on the redundancy terms being offered by the company are due to take place in London.
