Oireachtas committee to discuss school patronage

The Oireachtas Committee on Education is due to discuss the patronage of schools later today.

Officials from the Department of Education are to be questioned about the roll out of VECs as patrons of primary schools when they appear before the committee.

Their views will also be sought on whether the Educate Together movement should be allowed become patrons of second level schools.
