The Dáil will hear a private members motion tonight calling on the Government to make Irish banks more accountable to the public.

The Fine Gael motion will also ask the Government to identify the names of the 10 investors in the so-called Anglo Irish Bank "Golden Circle."

This Fine Gael motion is designed to embarrass the Government over its handling of the banking crisis.

It will call on Brian Cowen's administration to outline what steps the Government and the banks are now taking to recover the estimated €300m in debts on behalf of the tax-payer.

The motion will call for the replacement of the current board and senior management team of the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority.

Fine Gael will also request that the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement be given the lead role in all investigations into recent transactions by the bank.

The Government are expected to say that adequate measures have been put in place to deal with the banking crisis and is expected to win the vote tomorrow night.
