Suspicious device made safe in north Dublin
A viable improvised explosive device has been made safe by army bomb disposal experts in Dublin.
The team arrived to the scene at Edenmore Avenue in Coolock at around 10pm last night.
A controlled explosion was carried out and the all clear was given just after 11pm.
The remains of the device were handed over to Gardaí at the scene for investigation.
Defence Forces Spokesperson, Commandant Gavin Young, said it was potentially very dangerous.
Commandant Young said: "These are crude homemade simple devices, but for someone in the wrong place at the wrong time they could certainly be extremely dangerous.
"Because it is a homemade device you don’t know exactly how dangerous it could be but it has the potential to do a lot of damage."
