Ryanair is offering the Commission for Aviation Regulation its help in the aftermath of the XL holidays collapse.

The tour company went out of business last night because of rising fuel prices and the international economic downturn.

Ryanair has said it will give the authorities in the UK and Ireland the use of one of its aircraft for the next two weeks to bring home stranded holidaymakers.
