RNLI hold annual memorial service at Dun Laoghaire
Dun Laoghaire Lifeboat will hold its annual memorial ceremony at midday today for all those who have lost their lives at sea.
The annual memorial service began after a disaster on Christmas Eve 1895 in which an entire lifeboat crew died during a fierce gale off Blackrock.
Members of the public are invited to walk the East Pier in Dun Laoghaire to the lighthouse where a short service will be held.
RNLI spokesman is David Branigan said the Christmas Eve memorial is the RNLI's way of remembering all those who were lost at sea.
