Unions confident of resolution to Dublin Bus dispute
Unions representing striking drivers at Dublin Bus say they are confident that the Labour Court can resolve the dispute centring around the introduction of two new routes.
Drivers based at the Harristown depot have been on strike since Monday because the company is requiring them to start and finish their shifts in the city centre when working on the new routes.
They say travelling between Harristown and the city centre will add several hours to their working week.
Speaking as they entered exploratory talks at the Labour Court today, representatives of SIPTU and the National Bus and Railworkers Union both said they were confident of resolving the dispute.
However, they said it could take a number of days before the problems are straightened out.
