Dublin Bus strike set to go ahead tomorrow

Disruption to thousands of Dublin Bus customers is possible from tomorrow.

Drivers at Harristown depot are refusing to operate two new routes which are due to come into operation in the morning.

These new cross-city routes are being objected to by the drivers because they'll have to start, finish and take breaks in the city centre instead of at the depot, which they claim will make their working day longer.

Drivers say they won't operate the routes but Dublin Bus is determined to introduce them in the morning.

Drivers are warning that if they are suspended, the garage at Harristown will be forced to close and the dispute will escalate, which is something SIPTU's Willie Noone said they don't want.

As of yet no talks are planned for today and if the status quo remains thousands of commuters could be disrupted.
