The young couple killed in a fire at a house in the Curragh army camp on Monday morning are due to be laid to rest today.

Twenty-three-year-old Darren Hanly and 21-year-old Amanda Murphy died when a fire engulfed the house in McMurragh Hill shortly after they returned from New Year's Eve celebrations.

The couple left behind two young boys aged three years and two months who are being cared for by relatives.

Their funeral is due to take place after Mass at Saint Brigid's Church in the Curragh at 11am.

More than 1,000 people attended the removal service at the same church last night.
