Bullet threat sent to council chief
The chief executive of a council in the North has had a live bullet sent to him in the post.
Craigavon Borough Council confirmed its chief executive Francis Rock and his family had received the death threat against him.
“We can confirm a live bullet was sent to him in the post,” the council said.
The incident was condemned by Sinn Féin councillor Michael Tallon.
Mr Tallon called for the threat to be lifted from Mr Rock and his family and speculated that it was sectarian.
“I would urge all councillors within the borough to join together and demand that this threat against the most senior council officer is lifted immediately,” he said.
“The chief executive must be allowed to continue with his work without such sinister interventions being directed against him and his family.
“I am of the view that unionist councillors in particular can play a central role in having this death threat lifted.”
