Former minister Brendan Daly has been added to the Fianna Fáil ticket in Clare for the next General Election.

Former minister Brendan Daly has been added to the Fianna Fáil ticket in Clare for the next General Election.

The Senator lost his seat in 2002 despite getting over 7,600 votes.

The National Constituencies Committee of the party cleared the way for his candidacy despite only Senator Timmy Dooley and Junior Minister Tony Killeen being selected at the local convention.

He's planning to target the seats held by Independent James Breen, and Minister Sile DeValera, who is retiring.
