Problems with garda fines processing system

Gardaí do not know how much money they are collecting in speeding fines, despite the introduction of a new computer system designed to calculate the amount.

The Fixed Charge Processing System, which is designed to work alongside the penalty points system, became operational earlier this year. The system took two years to install.
