Two die in road crashes

An 83-year old driver and a 78-year-old pedestrian were killed in separate road accidents in Donegal and Wexford, it emerged today.

The older man was the driver of a car which hit another vehicle at Sappagh on the main Burnfoot to Muff Road in Donegal at 4.30pm yesterday.

A Garda spokesman said he was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry with serious injuries but died a short time later.

In Wexford, the younger man died after being hit by a car shortly before midnight at Waddingtown.
