This time last year, a 27-year-old Ukrainian woman in the North had both her legs amputated after suffering from frost-bite.

She had been laid off by the turkey factory where she worked in Coleraine, Co Derry, and ended up living rough in sub-zero temperatures.

Today is International Migrants' Day.

Superintendent John O'Driscoll, from the Garda National Immigration Bureau, said that we all have a role to play in helping immigrants feel welcome.
