Dunboyne rail line would be economically viable - study
An Iarnród Éireann feasibility study has reportedly found that a new rail line from Dunboyne in Co Meath to Clonsilla in west Dublin would be economically viable.
Reports this morning said the study had found that the service would cost €156m to establish and would be unlikely to generate a profit.
However, Iarnród Éireann has reportedly found that the route would recoup its own operating costs and would have wider economic and social benefits.
The proposed line would run from Clonsilla to just north of Dunboyne, where a park-and-ride facility would be constructed to serve commuters from Navan, Dunshaughlin and Dunboyne.
