A Wexford man accused of murder allegedly stabbed his victim ten times in the body, a jury heard at the Central Criminal Court today.

A Wexford man accused of murder allegedly stabbed his victim ten times in the body, a jury heard at the Central Criminal Court today.

Opening the case for the prosecution, John O'Kelly, SC, said the victim, Gordan Farrell (aged 20), sustained at least 10 stab wounds to his upper body and groin as well as incisions to both his hands before his death.

Nicholas Donnelly of Talbot Green, Wexford (aged 27), is on trial for the murder of Mr Farrell at Bernadette Place on September 23, 2001.

The sister of the accused, Michelle Donnelly, is also giving evidence about the deceased, who was her boyfriend at the time and the father of her child.

The trial continues this afternoon.
