Abuse victims' reps meet Education officials

Representatives of three abuse victims’ organisations met officials from the Dept of Education today for talks on plans for the further proceedings at a commission on inquiry into the whole issue.

Last month, the High Court judge chairing the commission, Ms Justice Mary Laffoy, resigned her post after differences with the Government.

A joint statement later described the meeting as a very constructive discussion of a wide range of issues aimed at ensuring that the commission completed its mandate as quickly and effectively as possible.
