A young Cork man who is inclined to forget his own name was jailed for five months yesterday for threatening a member of An Garda Síochána.

Peter Keenan of 10A Mahon Park, Mahon, Cork, and also of an apartment at Mariners Quay, Passage West, Co Cork, was before Cork District Court arising out of two incidents.

On November 6, 2015, he was stopped by Garda Brian Motyer and gave his name incorrectly as John Keenan. In the course of an outline of the facts of that case, Insp Adrian Gamble said: “Sometimes he forgets himself and gives the name John Keenan.”
