VIDEO: Three firefighters injured tackling farmyard blaze in Cork
A spokesperson for the county fire services said the three men were outside the farmyard building when the blast occurred on the farm near Terelton, Macroom.
The injured were taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) by gardaí where they were treated for burns to the hands and face.
The spokesperson said two of the men were expected to be discharged yesterday.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze just before 1am yesterday morning. Two units of the fire brigade attended, one from Macroom and one from Dunmanway. They fought the blaze for a number of hours before returning to base around 9am.
Gardaí are investigating the cause of the explosion. There were a number of drums in the building but what they were used to store was unclear yesterday.

A Health and Safety Authority spokesperson said they were aware of the incident and would be in contact with gardaí and the county fire service “to see if an investigation is warranted”.
Meanwhile, an elderly man was airlifted to hospital following a two-car collision in Clare yesterday.
One of the two vehicles overturned and landed on its roof after the cars collided around midday at Cranny Cross on the main N68 Ennis to Kilrush road.
