Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin imposed a four-year jail term consecutive to a seven-year sentence on Eoin O’Reilly, aged 35, of 6 Oak Drive, Classes Lake, Ovens, Co Cork.
The seven-year term for a previous drugs offence had been suspended on condition that he kept the peace. That suspension was revoked because of his part in an aggravated burglary, for which he got the four-year sentence .
O’Reilly was found guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court of possession of a Remington 12-gauge pump-action shotgun and two shotgun cartridges, and attempted burglary at Rougrane, Glanmire, Co Cork, on August 11, 2013.
The judge said yesterday: “The State had so much evidence to convict this man 10 times over.
This was a criminal act of the first rank — planned, organised, and determined — and he was fully aware of it.”
