A criminal act of the first rank — planned, organised, and determined — saw one of those involved getting what was effectively an 11-year sentence yesterday.

11-year sentence for ‘criminal act of the first rank’

Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin imposed a four-year jail term consecutive to a seven-year sentence on Eoin O’Reilly, aged 35, of 6 Oak Drive, Classes Lake, Ovens, Co Cork.

The seven-year term for a previous drugs offence had been suspended on condition that he kept the peace. That suspension was revoked because of his part in an aggravated burglary, for which he got the four-year sentence .
