Suspect in fatal Carlow stabbing was known to the victim

Gardaí suspect the fatal stabbing of a father of one in Carlow town stemmed from a row with a younger man known to him.

The 46-year-old victim was discovered by gardaí inside a house in Frederick Avenue, a quiet, settled estate near the Athy Road.

The victim, from Carlow town and who has been named locally, was pronounced dead at the scene.
