Seven closure orders were served on food businesses and two Donegal outlets were prosecuted last month for various breaches of food safety legislation.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) released details yesterday of its enforcement action during September.

Three of the closure orders were served under the FSAI Act, 1998 on Roma Takeaway on the North Road, Dromcollogher, Limerick, on the Express Fast Food Takeaway outlet in Ballinamore, Fintown, Donegal, and on the Meal Box takeaway at 73 Cork Street, Dublin 8.
