Seven closure orders served on food businesses
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) released details yesterday of its enforcement action during September.
Three of the closure orders were served under the FSAI Act, 1998 on Roma Takeaway on the North Road, Dromcollogher, Limerick, on the Express Fast Food Takeaway outlet in Ballinamore, Fintown, Donegal, and on the Meal Box takeaway at 73 Cork Street, Dublin 8.
As of yesterday, the closure orders had been lifted on Roma Takeaway and the Meal Box.
Four of the closure orders were served under the EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 2010 on the Stonehouse Restaurant at 9 The Square, Tralee, Kerry, on the Kebab Bites restaurant at Redmond Square, Wexford, on the Lime Leaf XL Shop’s takeaway Chinese and bakery food preparation units at Renmore, Co Galway, and on Fusion Café’s food preparation and service activities, Monck Street, Wexford.
As of yesterday, the closure orders had been lifted on the Stonehouse Restaurant, on the Lime Leaf XL Shop and Fusion Cafe.
Two successful prosecutions were also carried out on the Halfway House restaurant at Tooban, Burnfoot, in Donegal, and one on the Atlantic Bar pub on Main Street, Buncrana, Donegal.
