Student’s €2,750 graffiti spree
In Tallaght Court, Judge Bridget Reilly asked Daniel Kernan how he would feel if somebody sprayed graffiti across his parentsā house. Kernan replied: āI would get upset.ā
The court heard Kernanās antics were first rumbled when the gardaĆ received a complaint from the Yellow House Pub in Rathfarnham after graffiti had been sprayed on a wall. On investigating the case, it transpired that there was graffiti at seven or eight locations throughout Rathfarnham.
The total bill for the damage came to ā¬2,745.
Kernan, aged 20, Willowbank Park, Rathfarnham, admitted to criminal damage by spraying āāSKā on a post box on Main St, Rathfarnham, on May 20, 2014.
He also admitted to criminal damage by spraying āSKā on two green bins on Willowbank Rd, on a wall at Glenbrook Park, at the entrance to Glenbrook Park estate, and on the welcome sign at Rathfarnham Castle, all on June 20, 2014.
George Burns, defending, said his client had ā¬2,750 in compensation in court.
Judge Reilly asked Kernan:āHow did you get the money. Are you going to tell me it was by house painting?ā
Kernan replied: āYes. I did a little. I worked in a bike shop and a wine distributor as well.ā
The case was struck out.
