An eight-year-old Springer Spaniel missing for two weeks after the Limerick floods, and then hit by a car on the Ennis Road, has been re-united with his delighted owners.

As Bertie and Mary Flannerys’ Athlunkard Street home was flooded, the dog, Grouse, was taken to safety by the fire brigade, only to disappear.

As the family searched for their beloved dog, and Limerick Animal Welfare posted notices on their Facebook page, there was no sign of Grouse.
