Nicole to pick up West Cork Youth Award

A Cork schoolgirl whose local youth club made it to the finals of a national TV programme has won a major award in one of West Cork’s biggest and most popular youth contests.

Nicole Corkery, from Belgooly was one of 141 people nominated for the West Cork Garda Youth Awards. This Friday night the 15-year-old-year will be presented by Chief Superintendent Tom Hayes with an award for her work in promoting positive mental health.

Nicole was one of the main drivers of her Foróige Club’s project on positive mental health.
