‘Will someone tell me that yesterday never happened’

The families of the three brothers who died at sea off the Co Waterford coast were yesterday preparing to lay them to rest, as local fishermen said fish-catch regulations had meant the Bolgers had been forced out to sea with lobster pots instead of fishing salmon on the Suir estuary.

‘Will someone tell me that yesterday never happened’

Shane Bolger, a 44-year-old father of two, and his brother Kenny, 47, will be laid to rest following a service in Crooke at 1pm tomorrow, followed by the funeral in nearby Cheekpoint of 49-year-old father of one Paul straight afterwards.

The mourners will include Paul’s twin sister, Paula, who wrote on her Facebook account: “Will someone tell me that yesterday never happened.”
