An elderly cyclist has been seriously injured in a collision in Co Kildare.
The road traffic collision involving a truck and a bicycle occurred on the R414 (Rathangan Road) at Monasterevin this Monday at approximately 9.50am.
The cyclist, a woman aged in her 80s, was taken to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Dublin, for treatment of serious injuries.
A Garda spokesperson said no other injuries were reported at the time.
"The road is currently closed pending technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators," they added.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who were travelling in the area of the R414 (Rathangan Road) – known locally as "Cow Pastures” - at Monasterevin, Co Kildare, on Monday between 9:15am and 10.15am and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
