440 jobs in pipeline as three companies announce expansion
Healthcare provider Centric Health is to double its primary care centres from 10 to 20 in a move which will create 200 jobs.
The expansion has been made possible by a investment in the company by Metric Capital Partners, a European private capital group which has, in turn, enabled Centric to complete the acquisition of Global Diagnostics.
The first of the centres will be built in Newbridge, Co Kildare, and is due to open in February.
Centric said 50 jobs would be created in the first year, with medical, para-medical, and administrative roles available.
When all the positions are filled, Centric Health will employ 550 staff here.
Meanwhile, Dropbox, a free cloud-based service that lets users collect and share documents, photos, and videos, has announced it is to open an office in Dublin, creating 40 jobs.
The company, which has 100m users, said the Dublin office would be the centre of its international operations.
“We’re delighted to be closer to tens of millions of our European customers,” said Drew Houston, chief executive and co-founder of Dropbox.
“By opening our international headquarters in Dublin and tapping into the large talent pool that exists there, we’re better positioned to serve even more people locally while we continue to grow.”
The company will hire for multi-lingual sales teams, account management, and user operations staff.
Finally, Cantor Fitzgerald, a US global financial services firm, has acquired Irish stockbrokers Dolmen Stockbrokers and has plans to expand its market share and hire at least 200 staff.
Dolmen has offices in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick, and employs 90 staff.
Cantor Fitzgerald said that its Irish operation would “provide institutional, corporate, and retail clients in Ireland with access to the firm’s global distribution platform and breadth of financial products, while focusing on growing Cantor’s client base in the region”.
