A LIMERICK school has wound its way through over 170 balls of wool to earn a world record.

The pupils of Salesian Primary School in Fernbank were celebrating at the weekend after the Guinness Book of World Records confirmed they have earned a place in the book as the creators of the world’s biggest pom pom.

The record-breaking attempt has been rubber-stamped and certified and the school will be entered in the next edition of the coveted book of world records.
