Man critical after stabbing

A MAN in his 20s was fighting for his life last night after being stabbed in the stomach following a fight in a Co Cork town.

The victim, believed to have an address in the western suburbs of Cork city, was attacked outside an apartment in Mallow at around 1am yesterday.

Gardaí and other emergency services were quickly on the scene and the man was rushed to Mallow General Hospital where he was understood to be in a critical condition.
