Gardaí search estates

GARDAÍ mounted huge search operations in housing estates in various parts of south Limerick City yesterday.

A total of 42 houses were searched by members of the divisional search team, backed up by the Armed Support Unit.

Detectives from crime units at Henry Street, Roxboro Road and Mayorstone station also took part in the operation.

The Garda helicopter helped co-ordinate the operation and Garda sniffer dogs were also deployed.

= Insp Seamus Ruan said no arrests had been made and no drugs or guns were found. He said the operation was linked to serious crime in Limerick City.
