SURVIVORS and families of the victims of the 1974 Dublin and Monaghan bombings have called on An Garda Síochána to issue a full apology over its appalling handling of the investigation into the single biggest atrocity committed during the Troubles.

A spokesperson for the Justice for the Forgotten group called yesterday for a “craven and abject apology” from Garda Commissioner, Noel Conroy.

Another member claimed the McEntee report showed that gardaí were in “absolute fear” at the prospect of investigation collusion between the bombers and security forces in the North.
