Owners told to secure dogs after attacks on sheep

DOG owners in the southwest have been asked to ensure their animals are secure at night, following a number of recent attacks on sheep in the Glenflesk area, outside Killarney.

Upwards of 60 sheep are believed to have been killed by dogs on the farm of Pat Healy.

All the sheep that were savaged were ewes and were in lamb when attacked. Gardaí are investigating.
