Sea eagles set to soar again in Ireland

WHITE-TAILED sea eagles are to be released in Killarney National Park next summer, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) confirmed yesterday.

Eagles have been extinct in the area for more than 100 years and the plan to re-introduce the spectacular bird of prey is exciting wildlife enthusiasts.

It is intended to bring the first 15 eaglets from Norway, in June/July, and a further 60 will be phased in over the following four years.
