Dead baby’s mother urged to contact gardaí

A PRELIMINARY postmortem examination on the remains of a baby found in a disused farm shed in Co Meath has failed to establish the cause of death.

The baby’s remains were removed to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan, where the examination was carried out by the Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Michael Curtis.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for the baby’s mother to come forward, after it was found wrapped in blankets and a towel, one mile from Kildalkey, Co Meath at around 4.30pm on Tuesday afternoon by a local workman taking shelter from heavy rain.
