Permission granted to redevelop resort hotel
Denis Calnan has received permission to demolish and reconstruct the Atlantic Manor Hotel on Garrettstown beach, near Kinsale. Mr Calnan proposed to develop a new bar, restaurant, leisure centre. 18 double rooms and 31 suites at the site which was formerly Coakley’s Hotel. The plan also incorporates the development of an underground car park. Meanwhile, Astra Construction Services Ltd, a company based in Carrigaline, is seeking permission to construct 503 homes in the satellite town.
Of these, 353 will be houses, 100 duplexes, 24 apartments and a further 26 apartments which will be used as sheltered accommodation. In addition, the developers are proposing to build communal facilities, a crèche, outdoor play area, an all-weather football pitch and two tennis courts. The project is proposed for Ferney Road, Kilnaglery.
Developers Mark O’Driscoll and Conor Slattery have submitted plans to 87 homes at Coolfadda, Bandon. They want to demolish six existing buildings on the site and construct 74 two-, three- and four-bedroom terraced houses as well and 13 four- and five-bed detached houses.
Jeremiah Murphy has, in the meantime, been granted permission to build 56 homes in his native Banteer.
The project at Lyre consists of six bungalows, eight townhouses, 22 three-bed semi-detached, and eight four-bed semis in addition to 20 four-bed detached homes. He has also been given permission to develop 12 serviced sites.
Michael Devaney has got the green light to construct a further 27 homes at his Sliabh Alainn development in Mitchelstown.
Acorn Developments has lodged an application seeking to build 36 houses in three phases at Dromdaleague, Drimoleague.
