Missing pair seen in Ireland with sex offender
Concern was growing last night for Kay Ti Tan, 37, and her four-year-old daughter Arrisa Nadine Tan, both of whom have been missing from their home in Fitzjohn's Avenue, Hampstead, north London, since June 5.
They have been spotted in the Cork area with 43-year-old Peter John Kavanagh, a registered sex offender.
It is believed the three have travelled to southern Ireland, and a positive sighting in Cork showed they were in the area last week.
Kavanagh is also aware that he has been recalled to prison for breach of license, as he failed to attend a meeting with his probation officer, British police said.
They said there was no intelligence to suggest he had harmed the girl.
Police said Kavanagh is white, approximately 5ft 5in, with hazel eyes, and balding with very short cropped hair.
He is heavily built with bushy eyebrows, wears glasses and also has a number of tattoos on his left arm.
A green Renault 19 registration F890 GKM that the three were thought to be using has been found in the Exeter area, although they may have access to other vehicles.
Detective Chief Inspector Alun Goode said: "We are extremely concerned for Kay Ti and particularly little Arrisa, due to Peter Kavanagh's background. Therefore, it is essential we locate them as soon as possible."
Kay Ti and Arrisa are believed to have left their home address with some items of clothing.
Arrisa's mother, who is described as 'vulnerable', is approximately 5ft 4in tall and of mixed race (Malaysian/European).
She is of medium build, with long dark brown curly hair and brown eyes.
Arrisa is about 3ft tall, slim, of similar mixed race and also with long dark brown curly hair and brown eyes.
Kay Ti's mother Gisela Abe said: "I am deeply concerned for the safety of my daughter and my granddaughter Arrisa, and I desperately need to know that they are safe and well."
Inquiries have also indicated connections to a number of other areas in Britain, including Brighton, Bridgwater in Somerset, and the St Ives, Cornwall area.
The inquiry is being led by the Missing Persons Unit at Holborn Police Station.
